Due to the virus, Grainger High School did not hold a school-wide Awards Day, but the JROTC program held a cadet inclusive awards ceremony to recognize the performance and achievements of our cadets.
Our first reward was presented by Staff Sergeant Tillery, a U.S. Army recruiter. The Army Recruiting Command's Award is presented annually to an Army JROTC cadet who shows outstanding achievement and contributes to their JROTC program. This award was given to Cadet Captain Shasta Johnson.

The third award presented was the National Sojourners Award. This awarded to a cadet who has encouraged and demonstrated the ideals of Americanism by deed, conduct, or both; and that the cadet demonstrated a potential for outstanding leadership. This award was given to Cadet LTC Hayden Sinnamon.
The fourth award presented was the AUSA award. This is awarded to a cadet who holds a positive attitude towards their JROTC program and the United States of America. The recipient must hold a leadership position in the cadet corps and be active in school and community affairs. This award was given to Cadet Captain Emily McCaskill who unfortunately was unable to make it to the ceremony.
Our fifth award presented was the H.L. Hunley Award. This is awarded to a cadet who has demonstrated the qualities of honor, courage, and commitment to his or her unit throughout the school year. This award was given to Cadet Captain Jade Kuykendall.
The sixth award presented was the Scottish American Military Society Award. This is awarded to a cadet who is in the top 10% of his or her class and in the top 50% of his or her class in overall academic standing. This award was given to Cadet Major Samantha McDaniel.
Our final award presented was the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. This is awarded to a cadet who has contributed the most among cadets on campus to encourage and demonstrate Americanism by deeds or conduct during participation in extracurricular activities or community projects; demonstrated academic excellence by being in the top 25% of his or her academic class.
